Introversion & Leadership
Morning Session 10:10 - 11:00 AM
Join this interactive and reflective session to explore and discuss introversion in relation to higher education leadership. Participating in various online personality and strengths quizzes, attendees will explore the definitions of introversion and the "extraverted leadership advantage” and understand differences between introverts and extroverts. We’ll also explore an introvert’s leadership strengths, and how to apply awareness of those strengths in practical strategies for meetings, onboarding, and socialization at work.
All “verts” are welcome in this session: Introverts, ambiverts and extroverts! We all work with each other and can benefit from awareness of each other's strengths in order to cultivate a sense of belonging, inclusive communities, and productive work environments.
This session is based on research by a group of self-identified introverts at the 2021-22 Senior Leadership Academy and adapted from a presentation first given there.
