In this session, the presenters will discuss the inequities that women face in the higher education technology field and how they have worked to overcome such barriers. While the focus is on higher-ed technology roles, the activities and strategies planned will be applicable to any woman navigating a career in higher education.
This will be a hands-on session where participants will complete reflective activities that help them assess how their personal and professional experiences can impact them. Participants will walk away with tips and strategies empowering them to be confident women and supportive mentors.
LAUREN ARIMOTO

Lauren brings more than 12 years of experience working in higher education. She assists colleges and universities in enrollment, strategic planning, student success and the improvement of operational effectiveness through the use of technology. Lauren excels at project management and enjoys bringing teams together to work collaboratively toward common goals — especially those that ultimately improve the student experience. Lauren has worked with large public research universities, smaller liberal arts colleges, professional schools, community colleges, non-profit education companies and a K-12 family of schools.
After earning her bachelor’s degree from American University, Lauren began her career in the admissions office of an undergraduate business school and, prior to joining Kennedy & Company, worked as a higher education consultant for Huron Consulting Group.
AMY MALTAGLIATI

Amy is a higher education strategist with more than a decade of experience in admissions, advising, and enrollment management roles. She is 5x Salesforce certified, holds a lean black belt, and is also a certified-agile scrum master. She values continuous, innovative thinking while fostering the ability to strategically meet and exceed goals at colleges and universities. With a strong emphasis on collaboration and teamwork, her project management and leadership styles focus on utilizing CRM platforms for data-driven decision-making and creating proactive changes to achieve successful outcomes. Amy has worked at both inner-city and rural community colleges, online and non-traditional colleges, as well as large R-1 institutions, having gained experience at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Prior to coming to Kennedy & Company, she spent eight years at the University System of New Hampshire, most recently on the Enterprise Technology & Services CRM team and prior to that serving as an associate director of academic advising. Amy is also an adjunct instructor and teaches courses on critical thinking and strategic planning. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Saint Michael's College and her M.S. and two PBACCs from Towson University.
