Thriving as Women of African Descent in New Hampshire’s Higher Education Landscape: Voices of Four Extraordinary Women

This panel discussion will highlight the journeys of five New Hampshire women of African descent working and thriving within higher education settings. They are making amazing contributions at their institutions, throughout the state, within their geographic regions, and within organizations outside of higher education.

Each of them has a unique story to tell about their journeys. They will share aspects of their journeys, provide insight into how they feel they are having an impact on the NH landscape, suggest ways to continue to create higher education environments full of possibilities due to having diverse voices, and offer their perspectives about the future of higher education in NH based on where they “sit” due to their social identities of female and being of African descent.
